This business is more than a creative outlet for me—it’s my way of sharing the landscapes, stories, and small-town charm of the region I call home: the Finger Lakes and Wayne County, New York.
I’ve lived most of my life surrounded by the beauty of Upstate New York, and over the years, photography has become my favorite way to explore, appreciate, and promote the place that shaped me.
My Journey Into Photography
My path into photography began long before I ever picked up a camera professionally. I spent decades working in broadcast media, where I learned the importance of storytelling—how lighting, timing, and composition can shape the way people experience a scene.
But it wasn’t until I started exploring the local trails, waterfalls, lakeshores, and historic villages with a camera in hand that I realized how much I wanted to share the beauty of this region with others. What started as a personal passion slowly evolved into something bigger: a business built around capturing meaningful images and helping others see Upstate New York the way I do.
Why I Created Beck Photo and Video
Beck Photo and Video grew from a simple idea:

Promoting the Finger Lakes Through Photography
The Finger Lakes region is an endless source of inspiration for me. Its deep glacial lakes, dramatic gorges, powerful waterfalls, and seasonal color changes offer something new every time I head out with my camera.

Sharing the Beauty of Wayne County
Wayne County is where I live, where I work, and where many of my favorite subjects can be found. From the stunning cliffs at Chimney Bluffs to the lighthouse at Sodus Point, from fruit orchards to canal towns, the area is filled with places that deserve to be seen and celebrated.
My goal is to highlight the charm, history, and natural scenery that make Wayne County special—often in ways that locals may overlook and visitors may never know about.
Why This Work Matters to Me
